About Medical Products Direct.  We specialize in internet sales of a complete line of medical & home healthcare products.  We are able to compete with the large corporations because we keep our overhead low.  We don't spend huge amounts of money advertising.

Shipping Methods and Signature Requests

Shipping Charges:  All of our shipping charges are now calculated real time using software that accesses the UPS website to access their rate tables.  In the event that the UPS website is down the software will still let you place an order but the shipping amount will not be correct.  If there are ANY discrepancies between the price shown and your final order you will be contacted before the order is processed or any charges made to your credit card.

Shipping methods:

** NOTE **  Shipping days are "shipping time" after UPS picks the package up from our location. Any orders recieved after 10:30 AM CST do not ship until the next business day (Monday - Friday).  Even the premium shipping options such as Next Day Air will not ship until the next business day.  For example if you place a Next Day Air order on Tuesday at noon the shipment goes out first thing Wednesday morning and will arrive to you on Thursday.  If you place a Next Day Air order on Friday afternoon the shipment will still not be sent until Monday morning and arrive at your location on Tuesday.

1.  UPS Ground - truck delivery to your doorstep.  From 4 to 10 business days delivery time.  Most economical method of shipping. Prices will range from $5 to $75 depending on the weight and size of the product.  If your order is recieved before 10:30 AM CST your order goes out that day, otherwise it ships the next business day.  No guaranteed delivery time from UPS.

2.  UPS 3 Day Select - The ideal mix of economy and guaranteed on-time delivery, UPS 3 Day Select guarantees delivery by the end of the third business day  after the package is picked up to and from every address in the 48 contiguous states. Prices can range from $10 - $125 depending on the weight and size of the product.  If your order is recieved before 10:30 AM CST your order goes out that day, otherwise it ships the next business day. For example if you place your order on Monday after 10:30 AM and the item ships on Tuesday it will arrive on Friday.

3. UPS 2nd Day Air - UPS 2nd Day Air provides guaranteed on-time delivery to every address throughout the United States (excluding intra-Alaska shipments) and Puerto Rico by the end of the second business day. This service is an economical alternative for time-sensitive shipments that do not require overnight or morning service. Prices can range from $15 - $185 depending on the weight and size of the product.    If your order is recieved before 10:30 AM CST your order goes out that day, otherwise it ships the next business day. For example if you place your order on Monday after 10:30 AM and the item ships on Tuesday it will arrive on Thursday.

4. UPS Next Day Air - UPS Next Day Air features fast, reliable delivery to every address in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. We guarantee delivery by 10:30 a.m., noon, or end of day the next business day depending on destination (noon or 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays).  Prices can range from $26 - $350 depending on the weight and size of the product.   If your order is recieved before 10:30 AM CST your order goes out that day, otherwise it ships the next business day. For example if you place your order on Monday after 10:30 AM and the item ships on Tuesday it will arrive on Wednesday.

5.  Motor Freight (Custom Quote Only) - This is the option that you have to choose for items too large for UPS service.  A $100 charge is added to your purchase total at the time of order.  An exact quote is obtained from the freight company and you are contacted for your approval before you credit card is charged.

Signature Request: Most of our items do not require a signature request. If you are needing a signature request on your order please make note of it when placing your order. A signature request is were you would require someone to be present to sign for your package and is proof that your item was delivered and also who signed for it. With a signature request this is a way to make sure your items make it to there destinations. Please specify if you require a signature upon delivery of your item. If not specified your package is sent normally and can be left on your porch.

Freight Items:  This applies ONLY to items that are specifically noted as being a "freight only" item on that products web page. Some products are too large for UPS to ship such as the bed packages & electric wheelchairs.  In these cases they have to be sent via freight company. 

When ordering these items you will need to select "Motor Freight (Custom Quote Only)" as the shipping method on the check out page. There will be a reminder in the options feild on the check out page that this is a freight item. Truck Freight charges can range anywhere from $35 to $125 depending on the weight and size of the item.

Where it is know we will note on the product page what the average shipping charges for that particular item is.  For simplicities sake a flat charge of $100 is accessed on all freight items at the time the order is taken and adjusted accordingly when the exact charges are known..  When the exact freight cost is know you will be contacted with the exact cost before your credit card is charged.  

If you would like a quote on freight charges before you place an order for a freight item e-mail support for a "freight quote".  We will need the item number of the freight only item that you wish to order and the complete shipping address  We will contact you within one business day with the freight charges.

What is Tailgate (Dock-to-Dock) Delivery:

As part of the common carrier driver ICC regulations, truck drivers are required only to bring merchandise to the tailgate (end) of their vehicle. It is then the customer?s responsibility to remove it from the truck. If you do not have the personnel or facilities to handle unloading, Winco suggests the following:
 

Lift Gate Service and/or Inside Delivery:

These services may be requested AT AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE before the shipment leaves the factory.  Inside delivery does not include lift gate service.  If there is no receiving dock you should request a lift gate to lower the merchandise from the end of truck to ground level.  If inside delivery is requested, the driver will assist someone from your business in moving merchandise off the truck into the building.  If there is an elevator available, the driver may also assist in taking the merchandise to any floor above or below the delivery floor. If no elevator exists, the driver will only assist in bringing the merchandise into the entrance on the ground floor. If there are steps, additional help will be required.

Return Policy:  First off we want our customers to be 100% satisfied.  If you are not happy with your purchase let us know.  We will do everything in our power to make it right.  If there is something wrong with your order such as shipping damage or a manufacture defect we will gladly take care of the problem at our expense.

Claims for shortages, breakages, manufactures defects or any other reason must be made within 48 hours of receipt.  Shipping containers must be kept if shipment is damaged or short.

If you simply want to return an item because it does not fit your needs or that you no longer need it we do accept returns for up to 30 days but there are certain guidelines.  Please ask all the questions that you need to ensure that you are ordering what you need.  Returns are costly for both you the customer and us the store owner.

  • All returns must be labeled with a return authorization number that can be obtained by e-mailing support@medicalproductsdirect.com .  
  • The item must be returned in "same as new" condition.  In other words we must be able to sell the item as new.  If the item has been scratched, damaged, dirty or otherwise un-saleable we can't accept a return on the item.
  • No item will be accepted for return after 30 days from the date of delivery.   
  • All returns that are not related to a manufacture defect or shipping damage are subject to a restocking fee of up to 35%.  
  • The customer is responsible for shipping charges incurred both ways.
  • Shipping cost are non refundable.
  • Items that are custom made or modified to your specifications are not returnable.
  • Special Note: All curtains ARE made to order and are non-returnable.

Cancellation Charges:
Orders may be cancelled free of charge providing they are received prior to shipment.  

  • If the merchandise has already been shipped there could be a restocking fee charge of up to 25% plus shipping charges incurred in both directions.
  • Shipping charges are non-refundable.
